Funders and grantmakers

Two homes,
serving Tracy since 2009.

The Coalition has been housing men in Tracy since 2009. Here is what the work is and what your review is likely to need.

The organization

Rooted in Tracy,
built to last.

The Coalition of Tracy Citizens to Assist the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It began in 2009 when a Tracy man, Marvin Rothschild, started offering hot showers to people living on the street. Emerson House opened in 2012 and Rochester House in 2015.

The homes are now operated with Chains Broken Services of San Joaquin, under new leadership. The Coalition remains its own legal entity with its own board and its own charitable status.

What the homes do

At a glance

  • Emerson House, transitional men’s recovery home, opened 2012
  • Rochester House, long-term supportive housing, opened 2015

Financials, determination letter and current figures are provided on request.

What funding does

It pays for
the ordinary things.

Beds, utilities, food, cleaning, testing, insurance, and the staff time to run a house properly. Transitional housing is unglamorous and it is the part that actually costs money.

Tell us what your review requires and we will put it together rather than send you a generic packet. If there is a form, a budget format or a reporting cadence you need, say so and we will work to it.

Other ways to help

Tell us what your process needs. We would rather answer your actual questions than guess at them.
