Our homes
Two homes,
two different jobs.
They are not interchangeable. One is a program with an exit. The other is a place to stay.

Emerson House
For men rebuilding
toward independence.
Emerson House opened in July 2012 and is owned by the Coalition, bought in part with City of Tracy CDBG funds. It is a transitional men's recovery home for men who are ready to do the work.
The program is built around sobriety, full-time work, and a plan for the money. Men attend recovery meetings, take part in house meetings and chores, and submit to testing. Counselling and treatment come from outside providers, not from us.
How to applyWhat the program works toward
- Full-time work, or a documented reason you cannot
- Debts and fines being paid down
- Money saved for an emergency
- A deposit for a place of your own
These are goals the program works toward, not promises or guaranteed outcomes.
Rochester House
For men who need
somewhere permanent.
Rochester House opened in November 2015. It is a long-term supportive home for older men and men with disabilities, and it runs family-style: meals together, games on the TV, holidays, a house dog.
This is not nursing care. Residents dress themselves, cook and feed themselves. Some may not be able to hold a job or manage their own money, and that is fine. Men with severe disabilities or medical needs beyond this are better served elsewhere, and we will say so.
What families ask about RochesterPlainly: Rochester House is a home, not a care facility. If a man needs help with daily personal care, he needs more than we can give.

In both homes
Drug and alcohol free, including marijuana. Weekly testing. House meetings, chores and a daily routine.
Practical things
Wi-Fi, laundry, cable TV and computer access. Meals and social activities together.
What we are not
No detox, no clinical treatment and no case management on site. Those come from outside providers.
Not sure which home fits?
That is the normal starting point. Call and describe the situation, and we will tell you honestly which home, if either, is right.
